What You Are Actually Buying
Three things happen that cannot happen any other way, and together they are the whole difference.
We measure you, then cut a pattern from those measurements. Nothing gets adjusted toward you from a standard size, so the shape is right from the beginning rather than corrected afterwards.
Almost everybody is asymmetric. One shoulder sits lower, one arm is slightly longer, posture leans forward or back. No size chart has a column for any of that, and it is exactly what a pattern cut for you absorbs without anyone noticing.
Weight, weave, colour, lining, buttons, lapel, vents, pockets. You see the fabric books in your own light and decide, rather than picking from whatever happens to exist in your size.

Most suits sold in America are cut from cloth designed for a place that has a winter. Here, a suit spends its day moving between ninety-four degrees outside and sixty-eight inside, several times over, and heavy cloth cannot handle that cycle.
Linen is a beautiful fabric and it wrinkles on purpose. That is charming at a beach wedding and reads as unprepared at a podium, so we will tell you honestly where it belongs.
