Why a Coat Has to Be Measured Over a Suit
A coat is the only garment you wear on top of another one, and that is exactly where a bought coat goes wrong. The shoulder has to clear a jacket shoulder, the sleeve has to clear a jacket sleeve, and the body has to close over both without pulling. Measured on a bare shirt, a coat looks right in the mirror and binds the moment you put it on over tailoring.
So we measure you in the jacket you will wear under it. If you own three suits with different shoulders, bring the one you wear most. That single decision is most of the difference between a coat that hangs and a coat that hunches.
On weight: Jacksonville FL rarely asks for a heavy coat. Unless you travel north through the winter, a topcoat weight gets worn far more often, and a coat that gets worn is worth more than a warmer one in a cupboard. We will say so at the consultation rather than sell you the heavier cloth.

From $799. The cloth moves the figure more than anything else, and we confirm the price before anything is ordered. Our pricing page sets out the three levels.
Is an overcoat worth it in Florida?
For most of the year a topcoat weight is plenty. January mornings here sit in the forties, and a lighter wool over a suit is warmer than a heavy coat you leave at home.
How long does it take?
Six to eight weeks from the measuring appointment. Start in September if you want it for the first cold week.
