How Do I Take My Measurements for a Custom Suit?
Getting accurate measurements is the first step in crafting a well-fitting custom suit. At Zane, we offer easy ways for customers to submit their measurements if they’re ordering online or unable to visit in person. Here’s a quick guide to what you need to measure and how:
1. Chest:
Wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of your chest, keeping the tape flat and level. Keep your arms relaxed at your sides while someone helps you take this measurement.
2. Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, typically located just above your belly button. Make sure the tape isn’t too tight.
3. Hips:
Measure around the fullest part of your hips while standing naturally.
4. Sleeves:
Start at the outer corner of your shoulder and measure down to your wrist bone while your arm is relaxed. Avoid measuring from the back of your neck , we measure sleeves based on shoulder-to-wrist distance.
5. Jacket Length:
Measure from the top of your shoulder (next to your neck) down to where you’d like the jacket to end, usually around mid-hip or slightly below.
6. Inseam:
Measure from the crotch down to the bottom of the ankle for trousers. Make sure you’re standing upright with your legs straight.
If you’re unsure or want assistance, you can always book an in-store consultation or schedule an in-location appointment, where our team can come to your office or another approved location for measuring. We also offer ready-to-wear suits and custom tuxedos that can be tailored once you provide your sizing.

Do I need a professional tailor to take my measurements?
Not necessarily. We recommend getting help from a friend and following our guidelines carefully. However, for the most accurate results, booking an appointment with Zane is best.
Can I update my measurements later?
Yes. If your measurements change or you want to refine the fit after your first suit, we’ll update your profile.
How long does it take to receive my custom suit after submitting measurements?
Typically, it takes 4–6 weeks from the consultation or measurement submission to delivery.
